OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, EE.UU. (AP) — La actriz Jamie Lee Curtis quiere llevar a la pantalla grande la historia de una activista que prometió hacer las veces de mamá en bodas de personas del mismo sexo.

En un comunicado divulgado el viernes, Curtis confirmó que adquirió los derechos de “How We Sleep At Night: A Mother’s Memoir”, de Sara Cunningham, de Oklahoma City.

La actriz dijo que en julio vio un mensaje que Cunningham publicó en Facebook donde dijo que se ofrecía a hacerse pasar por madre de personas de la comunidad LGBTQ que no cuenten con el respaldo de sus progenitores. La oferta de Cunningham se hizo viral.

Al final ambas se conocieron y Curtis dijo que ahora está tratando de llegar a un acuerdo para llevar la historia de Cunningham a la pantalla. Los detalles del acuerdo no estuvieron disponibles de inmediato.

Cunningham administra la organización sin fines de lucro Free Mom Hugs, que ofrece apoyo a niños y adolescentes de la comunidad LGBTQ. Curtis es conocida recientemente por su papel en una de las películas de la franquicia “Halloween”.
